Nakitta Hannah

Nakitta Hannah is a Montreal-based film director, writer, and actress focusing on documentary, experimental, and installation films. Originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Nakitta moved to Canada to expand her filmmaking practice and challenge the restrictions faced by black women from favelas. She holds an MFA in Film Production from Concordia University and has screened her recent short film at Black Film Festivals in Toronto, Halifax, and Ottawa. Nakitta’s work reflects her critical views on gender, race, and class issues, often referencing culture and the collective. Her artistic practice explores the representation and identity of oppressed groups in cinematic narratives.
